New Investments
We are delighted to announce that “Eureka! Fund I - Technology Transfer” have invested in Novac S.r.l. alongside Motor Valley Accelerator powered by CDP Venture Capital SGR & Plug&Play.
Novac, an Emilian startup working on supercapacitors for electric mobility, has completed its first pre-seed round of € 412k.
Thanks to new resources, Novac will concentrate on the development of innovative technology, focusing on the creation of solid-state supercapacitors for more environmentally sustainable storage systems.
Unlike competitors, focusing on the use of low-cost carbon electrodes and dangerous liquid electrolytes, Novac plays as a game changer as it matches the performance of commercial supercaps and it is able to provide specific features: the supercaps are modular and multifunctional.
These features mark a big change as they give the chance to integrate supercapacitors in electric vehicles such as e-bikes, electric scooters and drones.

Blacksheep Fund
iD Ward, an English identity management startup, is considered a disruptive change in today's market evolution since it allows to persistently identify consumers in full respect of their privacy.
ID Ward has developed a technology that allows, after consumers’ consent, to identify consumers by replacing personal data with anonymous ones. This is a new approach to the spread of data, which is no longer based on third-party data (such as cookies and fingerprints), but on edge/on-device profiling; data never leave consumers’ devices and they are not accessible either to third parties and to ID Ward itself.
Our MadTech Team at BlackSheep Fund decided to invest in this project alongside SyndicateRoom’s Super Angel Fund and UK Angel investors: in February 2022 ID Ward closed a € 1.1 Mln funding round.
The marketing industry of the future must respect consumer privacy and preserve performance for the marketer. The adoption of an independent solution based on anonymised data can be the foundation of a new, open marketing ecosystem. Read more.
Scibids, a Paris-based company with a global presence, has developed a unique AI-based intelligence layer, which acts as a virtual trader on top of Demand-Side Platforms (DSPs) driving a step-change performance and scale independently. Scibids AI sorts through as many as 22 million variables – such as geography, gender, and site placements – to automatically build thousands of highly granular buying strategies in the DSP. That process is carried out with a privacy-first approach, since it has never relied on third-party cookies, PII, or other digital identifiers.
Blacksheep Fund invested € 2 Mln in Scibids, in order to increase Scibids' business in preparation of future rounds to achieve global leadership.
Scibids was recently named to the AdExchanger 2021 Programmatic Power Players list; finalists for the Most Effective Programmatic Partnership in the UK-Based Drum Awards for Digital Advertising in 2021 for their collaboration with Dell, WPP's Mediacom, and Nielsen; was recognized as the Best Overall Technology for Programmatic Trading by The Drum APAC in 2020, and was shortlisted for Best Digital Campaign in partnership with Publicis' Zenith and Nestle in The Wires Global 2020 by UK-based ExchangeWire.
